Honda Accord Engine
The 2018 Honda Accord is a trusted midsize sedan that offers plenty of power under the hood as well. There are two available engines for you to choose from.
The first is a 1.5L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine with direct injection. This gets up to a well-balanced 192 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque at 1,600 – 5,000 rpm.
This base engine has a 10.3:1 compression ratio and features a 16-Valve dual overhead camshaft (DOHC) and Variable Valve Timing & Lift Electronic Control (VTEC) to help it maximize its performance.
There’s also two transmissions you can chose to pair with this engine. The first is a classic 6-speed manual transmission, while the other is an intelligent Continuously Variable Transmission (CVT) with sport mode.
The larger of the two engines is a 2.0L turbocharged 4-cylinder engine that generates up to 252 horsepower and 273 lb-ft of torque at 1,500 – 4,000 rpm. It has a 9.8:1 compression ratio and a 16-Valve DOHC and VTEC®.
This engine works alongside a 10-speed automatic transmission with Shift-By-Wire (SBW) and available paddle shifters.
