2018 Honda CR-V Review
Compact SUVs are growing in popularity every day, and drivers near Gulfport, Long Beach, and Biloxi may be considering one for their next new car. If that sounds like you, the 2018 Honda CR-V is one possibility you're likely considering.
However, is it the right car for you? Our team at Pat Peck Honda is here to help you answer that question. Our 2018 Honda CR-V review will delve deeper into the most exciting features the CR-V offers. Give it a read, and decide if you can see yourself behind the wheel of this innovative Honda vehicle!
Honda CR-V Interior
The 2018 Honda CR-V can seat up to five people on standard cloth seats. If you're looking for upgrades, you can take those seats heated, power-adjustable, or even leather-trimmed for an upscale experience. With flowing interior panels, the CR-V accentuates its edges and brings refinement and class to its cabin.
With head- and legroom measurements in the front and rear all hovering near 40 inches, tall passengers can sit comfortably wherever they choose. The spaciousness extends to the trunk, where 39.2 cubic feet of room for storage expands to 75.8 cubic feet when the rear seats are folded down. Your groceries or camping/sport gear can fit-and breathe-comfortably.
Exterior Aesthetic and Function
The redesigned fascia of the Honda CR-V uses an active shutter grille. It lends a sophisticated look to the front of the car, and it can also boost the engine's efficiency. When the grille closes, it'll restrict the flow of air through the engine and force it around the vehicle, for better aerodynamics and fuel economy.
At the rear end, distinct L-shaped LED taillights shine brighter and longer, helping you stand out and get noticed by drivers behind you. Available dual chrome exhaust finishers, which come standard on the CR-V Touring, complement those shapely lights for an overall sporty look.
The base 2018 CR-V uses a 2.4L 4-cylinder engine to produce up to 184 horsepower and 180 lb-ft of torque, while all the higher trims feature a turbo 1.5L 4-cylinder that delivers 190 horsepower and 179 lb-ft of torque. Both work well, but choose the turbo for a stronger, more linear acceleration.
When it comes to efficiency, the base CR-V gets an EPA-estimated 26 city and 32 highway MPG, and the higher trims with turbo engines add 2 more MPG to both city and highway driving.1 All trims use a continuously variable transmission (CVT) for an extra boost to fuel economy and fewer stops at the pump.
